Wyatt, Geoff and intern Linsday had a great time speaking to 125+ high school students at HTHNC in San Marcos on Thursday, 17th. It’s always exciting to see kids ask intelligent questions, as many of the students did. It’s also nice to see a school put focus on sustainability, music and the arts, etc. We also hooked the schools art class up with decks to paint on for an upcoming art project. Photos to come soon! BambooSK8 joins Vans Warped Tour 2010
Monday, May 24th, 2010BambooSK8 is super stoked to join the Vans Warped Tour this summer. Please make sure you stop by and visit the Concrete Wave booth where we will be featured with a few other great brands and non-profits. Concrete Wave has introduced the “passport” program for the tour so make sure you get your passport and get it stamped. We will be giving out free stickers, green washed ritual music cards for 20 free songs, bamboo shirts and bamboo skate decks.
We are looking for serious fans of our brand to help out if possible. You will be responsible for purchasing your own ticket (sorry we only get a few tickets ourselves) but once in, you can help pass goodies out at the booth. Geoff and Wyatt will most definitely be at the California dates so stop by and say hello!!!

Guinness World Record holding (Most gigs in a 12 hour period) London-based punk powerhouses Buck Brothers are the greatest thing to come out of a Buddhist Disco since pacifist whack-a-mole. Their sophomore effort “We Are Merely Filters” has the same infectious hook-driven melodies with hilarious lyrics filled with far-spanning references and witty wordplay that was featured in Me.
Although, going through several line-up changes over the years and having more drummers than Spinal Tap. The Buck Brothers have found gold in their current line up consisting of the only original member Andy Duke (Vocals and bass), and new members Craig Welsh (Drums and vocals) and Dom Beckford (Guitar and vocals).
“We are Merely Filters” is an all out assault on your brain. Perfectly mixed, it can be enjoyed waiting for the bus with headphones, or even better by going to one of their concerts. You’ll find that this Brit pop/punk/rock mix is bound to have you dancing halfway through the first track.
From the bloody brilliant “All I Want To Do” with its mantra “Life is cool. Religion sucks. All I want to do is dance.” To the non-sense “Pop Muzik” that echoes DEVO and The B52’s. Buck Brothers latest is bound to have you screaming “Encore! Encore!”

Friday, October 2nd, 2009While we are at ASR, we ran into my old pal Preston who use to skate for me over at Grind King a while back… anyhow, my boy has a new show out that we want to help promote because we will be featured on it in the fall.

PUSH, hosted by Preston Pollard and co-host Stephany Rose, is an inspirational and entertaining new show with a truly cutting edge of culture, music, ministry, and extreme sports, including skateboarding, BMX, and motocross.
This Christian based show will showcase some of the biggest names in the professional skateboarding industry, such as Jeremy Rogers and Greg Lutzka, as well as feature the hottest artists that make up the popular Contemporary and Rock Community.
PUSH will revolutionize the extreme sports scene. Through “a day in the life” with the most popular pro figures, PUSH will give youth the opportunity to spend time with their role models, providing them the direction and inspiration needed to pursue dreams and use extreme sports as a healthy outlet. Giving back to the community, the PUSH crew will be giving presentations at middle schools and high schools, and be providing selected students with the tools needed to break into the skate or BMX scene, such as boards, bikes, helmets and overall inspiration.

Lucky for us, we had a booth with other green companies in the ASEC green room, full of carnival surprises. It seemed we created a lot of excitement this year for our new 100% bamboo longboards, and of course our new 100% and 70% bamboo short decks. People were also excited to learn about the Green Washed Ritual music project – check out our music page for more details.

Out of Step Entertainment, New World Management and BambooSK8 are pleased to announce the creation of a digital compilation: The Green Washed Ritual. It merges major label acts, independent label acts, as well as regular folks who just want to put out great music.
This compilation is the first of its kind and has the ability to reach millions of action sports fans! To further diversify the compilation, 1 Sonicbids artist will be selected.
Distribution will take place at the various events associated with the presenters across the country, but not limited to the X-games, Malouf Money cup, ASEC, Tampa AM, Action Sports Retail, as well as the many digital and viral efforts via the Internet. To start, 25,000 collective series digital download cards will be given out with each skateboard sold by BambooSK8, up to 1 million.
A few of the confirmed bands thus far are Medina Lake (Roadrunner), Ana Lovelis (DKE), All that Remains (New World), Arthur Autumn (Out of Step), and It dies today (New World).
Submissions are open to a variety of genres including: Rock, Alt. Rock, Acoustic Rock, Pop, Jazz, Blues, Folk, Alt. Country, Classical, World, Reggae, Metal, Rap and Hip Hop, etc.
