Good Times

Friday, August 27th, 2010

well, in the beginning four months seemed like an eternity. However, the time has gone by so fast. I have truely enjoyed all my experiences in the last few months. Building the quarterpipe, chilling in the cave, and all the events we were involved will always be remembered. I would like to give a shout out to Mark, Andrew, and Wyatt for always making the daily grind not such a grind, You never knew what the day had in store for you at the office, it was awesome. Anyway, the experience at Bamboosk8 was amazing and I thank everyone in my class and everyone at Bamboosk8 for making the experience awesome

Two Weeks of Madness, I Love It

Wednesday, August 11th, 2010

The last few weeks have been crazy around here. After the success of our Octabomb Launch Party we looked ahead to probably the busiest two weeks in the skateboard industry, especially in southern California. The US Open of Surfing, The X Games, The Maloof Money Cup, and ASR all take place in these two weeks. The X Games is always a huge event that takes over Los Angeles every year. This year they created an awesome park course and street course for all the skaters and BMX riders to rip up. There were some sick lines thrown down and one BMX rider even decided to air out of the street course, it was crazy. The US Open of Surfing took over the Beach at Huntington in it’s usual fashion. There were vendors tents, a massive park course, a huge skateboard bowl, and of course all the waves for the surfers. We were there for a few days passing out flyers and checking out the action, as well as the amazing concerts that are put on. The Maloof Money Cup was like nothing I have ever seen before. The course for the street skaters was sick and featured obstacles taken from various famous skate spots around southern California. Then just behind it was a very unique halfpipe as well as the Mini Mega Ramp. There were a million kids running around gathering up all the free swag they could, and Bamboosk8 held it down in the Kicker booth to inform people about our products and of course set them up with anything they needed to shred. This weekend is the ASR trade show in San Diego and you better believe that Bamboosk8 will be in the house representing. Also look for our very own warehouse manager Andrew to be shredding it up in the Shop Boys Contest, good luck man.

Events, Events, and More Events

To everyone that was at the Octabomb Launch Party, thanks for coming out, it was an amazing event and everyone had a great time, some had a better time than others, hahahaha. Anyway, looking into the near future it seems that we have a ton of stuff going on. This weekend X Games kicks off and you better believe we will be there to see everything go down. The US Open of Surfing also kicks off this week, if you have any down time cruise on out to Huntington pier and soak up some sun and the madness that is the US Open. It is definitely gonna be a good time. The Maloof Money Cup is also right around the corner, if you want to see the best skateboarders in the world killing one of the sickest courses ever, then you better be there. Bamboosk8 will be represented at all these events, they are going to be amazing. Things in the cave are going just fine, it looks like another day of fun and excitement with everyone here at Bamboosk8, it’s gonna be a good week.

There is so much going on this week it is crazy.  We are all gearing up for the Octabomb release party, with proceeds going to the National Wildlife Foundation to help the wildlife that was effected by the oil spill in the Gulf.  We will also be donating five dollars from each Octabomb board sold on the website to the cause.  We are loading up on sponsors and Swag bags for the event so be sure that you are there for a great party with the Crew from Bamboosk8.  You know that you want to come party with Mark, Andrew, and Whit.  Not to mention Wyatt, Geoff, and all the interns, there are so many characters here that the night should be epic.  Every day here is a new experience and I am loving every minute of it.  It is hard to believe that we are halfway done, but we still have so much to accomplish.

We are now in week 6 here at bamboosk8, everything is amazing.  I just finished a few new additions to the warehouse.  A 4 foot quarter pipe and a sweet fun box for all of us to play on.  Pictures and crash reports will be posted soon.  We have a lot going on this week.  We are planning the Launch Party for the new Octabomb which is going to be awesome.  Look for updates on that any day and make sure that you are all there.  We are also having a team BBQ and photo shoot this weekend.  I am looking forward to hanging out with everyone for the day and skating the new ramps.  I am excited to see what we come up with around here, everyday we seem to come up with new ideas.  Also be sure to check out our display at the California African American Museum in the Green Section.  Dana and a few of us worked really hard on the display and it looks sick.  Go check it out if you are ever up in LA.

Memorial Day Madness

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

We are now in our fourth week here at Bamboosk8, and everything is going amazing.  I attended my first event last weekend, the Dragon Skate Race at UC Irvine.  The event was amazing, some of those downhill skaters are out of their mind and there were plenty of crashes to go around.  We were also able to give the crowd a sneak peek of our newest creation here at Bamboosk8, the Octabomb.  This deck has an amazing shape and it  is small, light, and compact.  It has probably the sickest graphic I have ever seen.  I cannot wait until this thing gets releases and you all better get your orders in asap because this thing is gonna sell like crazy.  After a long weekend of layovers, canceled flights, and rental cars it is great to be back in the office.  I am stoked on all the events and things we are working on.  There will be more to come on that in the near future.  I am really excited to begin working with and expanding our team of riders, this is a great opportunity for the up and coming riders to get some exposure.  There is a lot going on here in the cave and new ideas are flowing like crazy.  Stay tuned and see what we can do.
