ASEC Greenroom at PB Surf Shop

Wednesday, December 2nd, 2009
On the 21st of November Greg, Mark, and I (Andrew) went down to PB Surf Shop to support ASEC and their new greenroom. They had an entire wall dedicated to eco-friendly products and materials.  Also to help kick it off were live artists and live music including the growlers.  Afterwards we gathered a few more people and visited Greg at his night job.  Good times.

The Future of Surfing

Tuesday, October 27th, 2009

October 17th was the Future of Surfing Event put on by Rerip in Solana Beach.  It was a gathering of eco-friendly companies to support the recycling and exchanging of old surfboards.  OB Surf and Skate and BambooSk8 put on the skate demo during the day giving the attendees some entertainment.  All in all it was a fun event that gave us a great presence among the green community. Here’s some photos from the event courtesy of Brian Keathley and Nathan Peacher:

2009 Vans Downtown Showdown

Tuesday, September 29th, 2009

The 5th annual Vans Downtown Showdown was once again held in the Paramount Studio lots in Hollywood over the weekend.  This event brings out some of the best street skaters in the world to test their abilities on custom features designed by certain companies.  This year was no exception when it came to creativity in features which showcased the talent of different skaters.  The features were Girl’s Little China Banks, Flip’s Extremely Sorry Ashtray Pyramid, Creature’s Hesh Cross, and Black Label’s Drunk Tank and Twelve Step Program.  Although everyone was killing it, Jani Laitiala took top pro performance while the overall team winner went to Foundation.  Until next year….

Hot Dawgs and Handrails

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

This past weekend hosted the annual Hot Dawgs and Handrails up in Big Bear, CA.  Every September snowboarders from around the world come to compete and party.  It’s quite easily my favorite event of the year because you get to hangout with pretty much everyone you’ve ever snowboarded with along with meeting new people at the same time.  Every year is amazing, and this year was no exception.  The following photos are courtesy of Snowboard Revolution:

ASR

Tuesday, September 22nd, 2009

Well I was glad to be a part of ASR this year instead of just being a spectator.  It was a great experience hanging out with the Bamboo crew and promoting the brand.  I was able to meet a lot of new people during these few days and hopefully made an influence on them.  Although ASR was mainly about doing business, we did have our fair share of fun too.  We attending video premieres, skate contests, and much more.  Here’s a link to a photo that made it onto surfshots website: http://www.surfshot.com/Surf%20Events/Photos/ASR+September+2009+Tradeshow+Pictures+The+Girls+The+Booths+and+few+Dudes-175301.html

Tuesday, August 11th, 2009

Hey everyone I know it’s been a while since I’ve made a post so I’m here to update you guys on what’s going on.  Inside the office I’ve been doing everything from finding and calling new shops to potentially carry our products, working on a deep cleaning product, answering e-mails, helping out with labels, helping with loop’d, and helping edit the new zine that Phillip has created. Today I’ve been busy reogranizing the warehouse and I’m about to clean out the kegerator.  Outside the office I’ve been surfing a bunch, visiting local skateparks to promote BambooSk8, and hangingout with some of the other interns.  Here’s some pics from a recent mini ramp sesh on the bamboo decks:

introduction

Tuesday, June 16th, 2009

My name is Andrew Gray and I’m a new intern here at BambooSK8.  I just recently graduated from Cal State Fullerton with a BA in Marketing.  I surf just about every other day, skateboard often, and snowboard regularly in the winter.  I’m stoked to be contributing to the eco-friendly movement!

I’ve been learning a lot about the company, products and customers lately.  I was able to help out with some of the latest ASEC skate demos in orange county and had a blast seeing everyone stoked on BambooSK8 including some of the top pros in the industry.  I’ve also got a lot of positive feedback from a couple friends on how the boards perform which is awesome.  Here’s a pic from the latest ASEC event in Huntington Beach of some of the local skaters who will all be skating these rad boards soon.4605_611334438934_21312573_36268818_3173089_n
