I’m one of the experienced interns at BambooSK8, having graduated the program in January and having the opportunity to stick around and help out in improving the program. When your coming into this internship it can be shocking how much input you can have in a final product. However, this can also seem overwhelming with the amount of freedom you are given to search for ways to aid in the company’s development. I advise in asking tons of questions and working with everyone to learn from each other, while taking your goals seriously and updating them every chance you get. Being able to choose S.M.A.R.T. goals and work toward achieving them takes a constant effort, while seeing the larger scale at which we are all working towards. These are a few of the challenges I have worked on with the time I’ve been here and am still working on.
To be able to see where I and we (BambooSK8) have come only over the past few months is amazing. It is also great to see this new group of interns develop and improve on what the previous group has achieved. This is also a motivator for what the future can hold for the company along with myself.
Some of the great times I have enjoyed are of course at the many events I have had the pleasure to attended representing BambooSK8. 1st Annual Battle at the Bay, Veterans Day all Military Skate Contest in Coronado, ASEC event in Huntington Beach along side Tony Hawk’s 80s day at Quicksilver Headquarters, Black Box Crossroads retailer event in Carlsbad, and the biggest and best ASR (Action Sports Retailer) at the San Diego Convention Center. ASR was my favorite event, having not been to one before, being able to see all the different companies and connecting with all the people at the event was incredible.
Until next time…
Mark
